Ballet Flats In Public

I've been wearing ballet flats at home in front of my wife for several years now.  For the most part, when I'm home, I wear pantyhose and flats.  With the exception of getting dressed for work in the morning and when I come home after work,  I wear pantyhose and flats.  Believe it or not, I actually wear pantyhose with the crotch cut.  I won't go into that now, but it's true.

Earlier this year I started thinking about wearing flats out in public.  I spent a lot of time thinking about it.  My rationale was that they are almost gender neutral.  I wondered if people would notice.  More than that, I wondered if someone did actually notice, would they say anything about it.

The first time I decided to wear them was at a hotel.  I needed to go out to my vehicle for something.  So I simply went downstairs and walked through the lobby and out into the parking lot.  Guess what?  No one saw me.  There wasn't anyone in the lobby or in the parking lot to see me walk back into the hotel.  There I was, venturing out to get something to eat while wearing

Typically when I'm on the road, I order take out from a restaurant and take it back to my room to eat.  I wanted to wear my flats out again.  At the time, most restaurants were pushing curbside pickup because of Covid. I decided to simply wear my sweats and flats out of the hotel and go pick up my dinner.  I didn't plan on going in to pick up my food.  But after ten minutes of waiting, I decided to actually go inside and complain about my dinner not being ready, while wearing women's flats.  I ended up standing inside the restaurant for about five minutes waiting for my dinner.

I watched the other people standing around in front of the hostess stand.  Of all of the other people  waiting to be seated, no one seemed to notice my shoes except for one young server.  I saw her look down at my feet..  Did she notice that I was wearing ballet flats?  I honestly don't know.

Soon, I decided to wear my ballet flats downstairs in the hotel to grab my first cup of coffee.  The pictures below are exactly what I wore on several occasions.

I know I look a little sloppy in my sweatpants.  In my defense let me say that I only dress like this when I go downstairs to get my first cup of coffee when I awake the a hotel room.

Please look at the second picture.

If you saw an older man dressed like this at would you even notice?
